I'm guessing this will take a while, but as long as I do it step by step, in sequence, it will work with this little laptop. It should then show up in the list of available screensavers. Pkill xscreensaver & xscreensaver -nosplash & to the end of the list of screensavers and save the file. Unfortunately, it looks like you need to manually install it yourself from git (I can't find a PPA).
